GE A-Series Panelboards

FPO

SITUATION:

A large entertainment venue in Orlando, FL was facing peak season and quickly needed to replace a large quantity of custom drilled and tapped hazardous location enclosures for a key thrill ride. The large quantity, coupled with a tight deadline of 8 days, was proving a challenge for the distributor.

SOLUTION:

Facing 8 to 10-week timelines from their typical source, the distributor called All Current. Utilizing in-house inventory, the manufacturer's inventory, and other sources from their extensive electrical industry network, All Current acquired all of the enclosures and utilized nationwide UL panel shops to complete the job.

The timeline from inquiry to the final shipment was 6 working days, leaving 2 days to spare.

EMERGENCY PANELBOARD FOR KMART

SITUATION:

When an overnight fire ruined their electrical service, a Kmart in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was faced with waiting seven to ten days for a permanent panelboard replacement from the manufacturer. In the meantime, they would have to rent a generator for around $5,000 a week.

SOLUTION:

In need of a faster solution, the local distributor involved called All Current. Upon receiving the call about the electrical service on Saturday morning, an All Current crew immediately starting building a replacement using a panelboard, and the parts required to reconfigure it, from our inventory. The panelboard was on the road by 11:30 that morning for its 120-mile journey to the store. When All Current arrived to inspect the installation that afternoon, temporary power had been routed and the board was being fitted into place.

COMPLEX UL CONTROL PANELS

 MODIFICATION FOR TIGHT SWITCHGEAR SPACE

SITUATION:

A distributor needed to supply a 1600A breaker for existing switchgear during a time-sensitive project, but the switchboard did not have the space available to accommodate the breaker.

SOLUTION:

All Current was able to modify the breaker to fit and install it to the 1600A switchboard. Upon delivery, just 4 days after the initial request, it took 3 hours to energize the breaker.

THRILL RIDE

SITUATION:

After Hurricane Laura, a specialty materials plant was still in recovery mode when they entered a scheduled changeover period. While servicing equipment, water damage from the storm was found on decades-old 2000A busway, causing it to fail Megger testing.

SOLUTION:

The equipment was removed and transported to All Current where our technical experts quickly engaged. In our panel shop, our technicians disassembled, cleaned, plated, and rebuilt the equipment, ensuring successful Megger testing. Within one week, the reconditioned equipment was reinstalled, and the facility kept on track with its changeover window.

The facility’s electrical distributor knew that they could count on All Current for a fast solution. With extensive experience in reconditioning, repairing, and replacing damaged equipment within tight timelines, All Current was well suited to solve the problem. To conclude the project for the long run, All Current is also building current model replacement busway.

RECONDITIONED BUSWAY

SITUATION:

A popular amusement park needed a fast solution for panel problems on one of their adventurous rides.

SOLUTION:

The distributor reached out to All Current whose designers and technicians worked directly with the park's engineers to accomplish the design/build of two complex UL control panels. Within two weeks of approval, the panels were assembled and delivered to the park to keep the adventures underway.

In the field, decades-old out-of-production 2000A busway equipment wouldn’t pass a Megger test.
Extensive water damage was found.

Reconditioning work in process at the All Current shop.
The equipment was returned to service in 1 week.

Working with the park's engineers and our distributor partner these UL control panels were assembled and delivered within 2 weeks.

Due to the efforts of the contractor, along with the rapid development and delivery of the panelboard, the store missed only one day of operations.

Creativity and the collaborative effort of nationwide UL panel shops
enabled this custom work to be completed faster than the deadline.

BUCKETS AND BUCKETS OF BUCKET REPAIRS

SITUATION:

After flooding, hundreds of MCC buckets at an industrial plant were damaged and in need of repair.

SOLUTION:

The buckets were pulled from the plant and staged for repair in our UL 508A panel shop. All Current technicians worked resolutely cleaning, rebuilding, and returning the hundreds of critical buckets to the plant to keep it operational.

Hundreds of buckets were staged, reconditioned, and returned to the plant.

 MCC COMBO REPLACEMENT FROM STOCK

SITUATION:

A nitrogen supplier for oilfield services, had two MCC combination starters unexpectedly go down. The starters were critical to operations and had to be replaced within 10 days.

SOLUTION:

All Current had the exact motor control centers in stock. Our panel shop was able to add the ground fault, modify the doors, and ship them to the facility in one week.

Modified equipment to address a tight space issue
was delivered in just 4 days.

Extensive stock enabled fast emergency replacement
of MCC combination starters.

MCCs with Fabricated Drop-Over Enclosures

SITUATION:

A facility in Guam required 4 MCCs, but needed 316 stainless steel drop-over enclosures, due to the highly corrosive and humid environment. They also required these assemblies to include power distribution transformers, panelboards, and annunciator systems along with motor starters and feeder breakers. The 4 assemblies needed to be completed within 6 weeks after the drawings were approved.

SOLUTION:

The distributor involved called All Current who engineered and constructed the entire project at our Houston facility. Starting from raw materials the NEMA 3X stainless steel drop-over enclosures were fully built in our metal fabrication shop. And utilizing components from our extensive inventory, the MCC units were assembled by our experienced UL panel shop technicians.

With a day to spare on the 6-week deadline, the project was finalized and air-freighted to Guam.
